About the piece
“Hi there,
Here is one of my favourites from the album “A Reborn Journey”. I am sure the video and the below details will give you an idea about my approach.
The Mediterranean Breeze is a mixture of western harmony & rhythms and Mediterranean melodies. The common 9/8 rhythms of Mediterranean melodies are creating a polyrhythm on the Section B and combined with 4/4 time signature. Whammy Bar is used to add an exotic style to the melodies by using the microtones.
Let’s break down the different parts of the piece:
- “Section A” – A Dorian scale over 4/4 rhythm and time to time Bluenote (Eb) is used.
A Dorian scale: A B C D E F# G A (Contains chromatic approach with G# and C#)- “Section B” – A Dorian #4 scale over 9/8 rhythm.
A Dorian #4 scale: A B C D# E F# G A (IV Harmonic minor 4th mode).- Bar 40-41 and 79-80 – A Superlocrian Scale (Mel min 7th mode)
A Superlocrian scale: A Bb C Db Eb F G AWishing you a colorful practice routine!”
